Best depends on your goal, not on a ranking
No honest list can name one best company for every business, because a dental clinic in Anna Nagar, a coaching centre in Tambaram and a B2B exporter in Guindy need very different work.
Start from the result you need
Write down the outcome first: forty qualified calls a month, twenty admissions enquiries, or ten demo requests. A company that cannot work backwards from that number to a budget and a channel is selling activity, not results.
Turn the goal into a number
Divide what you can pay for a customer by your enquiry-to-sale rate. That gives the highest cost per enquiry you can afford, and every agency proposal should be tested against it.
A worked example
If a sale is worth ₹20,000 profit and one in five enquiries buys, you can pay up to about ₹4,000 per enquiry before losing money.
Match the company to your stage
A business spending ₹30,000 a month on ads has different needs from one spending ₹5 lakh. Larger companies suit big budgets and many channels. A small, focused company usually gives smaller budgets more attention.
What a digital marketing partner actually does
Beneath the jargon the work is simple: get the right people to your business online, make it easy for them to enquire, and measure which part of that worked.
Attract: ads, search and social
Paid campaigns on Google Ads and Meta Ads bring people quickly. Search optimisation brings them more slowly but keeps working after you stop paying.
Convert: pages, forms and follow-up
Traffic is wasted if the page is slow or the form is hidden. A good company fixes the page and the follow-up speed before asking for more budget.
Measure: tracking you can verify
Every call, form and WhatsApp click should be tracked and tested before launch. If a company cannot show you the tracking working on your own phone, do not sign.
What a good company will not promise
Be wary of fixed guarantees such as first-page rankings in thirty days, a guaranteed number of leads, or guaranteed placement in Google's AI answers. Nobody outside Google or Meta controls those outcomes.
Honest promises sound smaller
What a trustworthy company can promise is process: tracking verified, accounts in your name, a weekly review, a monthly report and a clear way to leave. Results follow from that process, they are not promised in advance.
